Description

The listing, Heirloom ✽ HILLBILLY ✽ Beefsteak Tomato ✽ 15 Seeds ✽ Organic has ended.

An Ohio heirloom beefsteak originally from West Virginia producing 1-2 lb. huge, heavily-ribbed, orange-yellow fruit with red mottled skin and red streaks within. Very sweet, fruity flavors and low acid. When our other bi-colors slowed down production last year, this one stepped up to bat in extreme drought and record heat. This year it was a huge producer all summer long. These come in regular and potato leaf. These are the standard tomato leaf variety.

Days: 85
Size: indeterminate
Season: mid to late-season
Color: bi-color
Type: OP Heirloom
Uses: slicing, salads, fresh eating

This Auction: You will be receiving 15 seeds from my garden. They will be sent First Class mail for FREE in the United States. I only take Paypal for International bidders. I will also combine any additional auction seeds (within 5 days) for no additional shipping charge. I am happy to say that my seeds tested 99-100% germination within 2 weeks at a temp of 65°F in the spring. Excellent for beginners!

Propagation Method: From seed, sow seeds indoors 6 weeks before last spring frost. Sow 2-3 seeds per pot and thin to one plant per container. After four weeks, transplant seedlings to larger pots, and about 10 days before the last spring frost, begin hardening the plants to the outdoors. Transplant your plants to a sunny, highly composted location when soil temperatures are at least 55 to 60 degrees Fahrenheit. Stake or cage the plants for support and to prevent sprawling on the ground.
