FREE: Very Old US postage stamp, 1c dull blue with Benjamin Franklin from 1881

The listing, Very Old US postage stamp, 1c dull blue with Benjamin Franklin from 1881 has ended.

Up for auction is a very old US stamp-- it's a 1c dull gray blue with Ben Franklin! I'm pretty sure it's a shade of Scott number 206 from 1881, but I am not exactly an expert on these. It is in used condition with part of a town cancel. Nice color, and looks to be in pretty good shape for a 130-year old stamp-- no writing or damage on the back.

Here's the bigger scoop: My mom and stepdad both passed away a few years ago, and I've been going through some of their old stuff-- they were both dedicated "savers" of everything. In some ways, I guess they were borderline "hoarders." My stepdad accumulated stamps, and this is from his collection-- although it's more like a giant pile of messy album pages and envelopes.

I think people should have fun bidding on stuff-- that's what auctions are all about! So the starting bids for my stuff will always be is FIVE credits, and we go from there, no matter HOW valuable something might be.
