Up for bids here is another very old and quite valuable US stamp-- it's a 5c blue, issued for the 1898 Trans-Mississippi Exposition, Scott number 288. It is in used condition with a light "flag" postmark, perfs along the bottom are a little toned but overall nice stamp with good eye appeal-- no hidden faults. A somewhat "better" stamp with a $25.00 catalog value-- not something you see every day!

Here's the bigger scoop: My mom and stepdad both passed away a few years ago, and I've been going through some of their old stuff-- they were both dedicated "savers" of everything. In some ways, I guess they were borderline "hoarders." My stepdad accumulated stamps, and this is from his collection-- although it's more like a giant pile of messy album pages and envelopes.

I think people should have fun bidding on stuff-- that's what auctions are all about! So the starting bids for my stuff will always be is FIVE credits, and we go from there, no matter HOW valuable something might be.
