Description

The listing, 5 Calamansi Seeds (Calamondin/Chinese Orange/Citrus Fruits) has ended.

small, very round citrus fruit also known as: aldonisis, calamunding, Chinese orange, calamondin orange, Panama orange, kalamundin, calamundi.

Scientific name: Citrofortunella microcarpa

Very easy to grow. The tree, which is often trained as a bonsai, blooms all year-round, thus filling the air with the aroma of citrus blossom. once they are in the ground, will flourish into a taller size plant. Mine are in the ground and are easily twelve feet tall and produce fruits all year long here in Central Florida.

Makes a REFRESHING DRINK that tastes much like lemonade: squeeze and strain the juice of several calamansi, add cold water, and sugar or honey to taste. It’s a superb source of VITAMIN C and has a light, yet unique flavor equivalent to freshly made lemonade with a tangerine essence.

The many uses of calamansi make this fruit a wonder fruit. Calamansi may be squeezed on iced tea, seafoods and meat, to enhance iron absorption. The calamansi juice is primarily valued for making acid beverages. It is often incorporated like lime or lemon juice to make gelatin salads and custard pie. Calamansi juice is also used as a MEAT TENDERIZER and adds flavor to the dishes.

The calamansi fruit also has many MEDICINAL USES. The fruit juice is also applied to the scalp after shampooing to eliminate itching and promote hair growth. Rubbing calamansi juice on insect bites banishes itching and irritation. It bleaches freckles and helps to clear up acne. The most popular medicinal use of calamansi is when taken orally as a cough remedy. The fruit juice is slightly diluted and drunk warm. Aside from the food and medicinal uses of calamansi, the fruit juice is used to BLEACH ink stains from fabrics and serve as a body deodorant.

The many uses of the calamansi fruit prove the truth behind the passage "small but terrible".

This is the actual photo of our tree and it's fruits from our backyard.

Very hardy!
