Description

The listing, Asian Pear Tree Seeds has ended.

I will send the seeds from one Asian Pear. This could be 5 or possibly 10 depending on the size of the pear.

These are also called Korean pears, Chinese pears, Nashi pears.

Plant Asian pear trees in full sunlight for best fruit production. Space trees 15 feet apart to 20 feet apart. The Asian pear can handle temperatures as low as minus 20 F. Plant in a spot that offers dirt with a pH of 6.5 or slightly above. Mix aged manure or peat moss into the dirt when planting the tree or seed..

I find it best to plant fruit trees in the fall. Water as usual and allow the seeds to sprout normally in the spring. You can also begin the seeds in a container and transplant later in the spring.

How about Georgia's heat? They are one of my favorite fruits. I own a plant nursery. If I can grow one indoors for a couple years, then plant it outside. Do you think it could handle south Georgia temperatures?

I live in New Mexico and the temps here are higher than Georgia lol. They grow just fine with adequate water.

Well your the bomb because it gives me the chance to win the bids and not worry as to whether I'm buying something that will die if I try to plant it here in Utah. I'm so glad so far I'm having good luck as far as that goes. Like I said before I'm a fruit freak and so happy to get such a great variety to get my hands on :)

I am a vegetarian so fruits and veggies are my favorite. It's good to be careful when you are higher up in the north.

I know it even with things that grow here when we have a late frost and we do it kills a lot of the crops for the year so to get something that may or may not grow here your just asking for trouble and need lots of luck and prayers to make it grow lol

When in doubt, tent it with wood stakes and large sheet of heavy plastic. That will protect it usually in even colder states. Also heavily mulch the ground around the trees to keep the roots warmer.
