Description

The listing, Tabletop Gamers! Hirst Arts Mold #95 has ended.

Tabletop gamers! Stop paying outrageous prices for a small number of Dwarven Forge pieces when you can have all the terrain you want for pennies!

Great for players of Dungeons & Dragons, Warhammer, or any other grid-based tabletop roleplaying or miniature games!

Up for bid is a Hirst Arts CastleMolds Egyptian Basic Block Mold #95. All blocks have a sand blasted texture. Used for building simple walls and structures for any desert setting. Contains several long one-piece blocks.

Mold is used (using various plasters) but in excellent condition - Bruce Hirst uses the best silicon rubber for his molds, so they retain their detail after repeated use for years. This mold has seen at least fifty castings and still produces bricks identical to the ones I first cast.

I acquired four molds from this seller and they were equisite. Seriously you can not go wrong here.

Thanks for the kind words, LR2K! Although truly, the bulk of the credit has to go to Bruce Hirst. For something that seems so flimsy, his molds are exquisitely made and highly resilient. I think each of his molds that I own/have owned has seen at least 50 castings with no reduction in quality that I've noticed.

Agreed. I've owned 8 Hirst molds to date, and though I'm only keeping 2 for now (Fieldstone Wall #70 and Small Brick #250), I haven't been disappointed in a single one. Bruce's attention to detail, both in the mold materials and the designs, is second to none.

I am exploring different techniques right now but plaster seems to be the easiest for me, plus I run a library so it makes for a good project.

If you check the Hirst Arts site, there is a couple tabs off the Casting Instructions page (http://www.hirstarts.com/casting/casting.html) where readers review various casting materials.

When I started, I used Plaster of Paris. It's pretty weak, but for library projects, it can be a great inexpensive material.
