Big AND beautiful. Grows up to 8' tall and around 5' wide. Easy care. Great for pollinators. Useful as a fence because it IS pricky hence the name thistle {think Braveheart} and abounds with blooms. Helps keep unwanted animals/people off your lawn and would definitely be a put off for would-be burgular's.
Needs:
~ Water when droopy/weepy
~Accepts all soils accept heavy clay
~Wear gloves to cut off seed head BEFORE they "silken " up.
This is a MUST unless you want a lot of free range
thistles growing. I wear gloves, use a bag, and clip away.
It takes very little time to do this.
