The listing, 2011 Kentucky Derby Garland of Roses Pin has ended.
Each year, the winner of the Kentucky Derby is draped with a garland of roses. And since 1987, that garland has been hand made on Derby Eve by the Kroger Company in one of their Louisville area stores and placed on display there until Derby morning. To commemorate the occasion, security guards at the location hand out souvenir pins.
Up for bid is the 2011 pin distributed at the Hubbards Lane location in St. Matthews, Louisville, KY on Derby Eve. The pin features the Kroger logo with a single red rose in the upper corner and '2011 Kentucky Derby' along the bottom border. It is still staple sealed in the unopened original package.
