Description

The listing, 24+ct. Orange (Scarlet Star) Morning Glory Seeds Ipomoea coccinea has ended.

Scarlet Star (ORANGE) (Ipomoea Coccinea var. Hederifolia) MORNING GLORY SEEDS PLUS planting instructions, including a color photo of a seedling for easy identification.

Information I have found on these flowers says they range from orange to red, but all I have seen growing here is orange perhaps other soil/sun conditions would produce more reddish blooms.

These vines are COVERED with dainty (about 1/2" - 3/4" across), trumpet shaped flowers that are a beautiful orange with white stamen and, although in the morning glory family, these beauties keep their blooms open ALL DAY LONG! The hummingbirds LOVE them!!

I have these growing along my fence line in a area where many other morning glories just couldn't survive (very dry!). These are annuals, but readily self-sow for even more vines the following year! The vines grow 8 to 12 feet and have a PROFUSION of blooms that are a beautiful orange with a white stamen and lovely heart-shaped leaves. Perfect for covering a fence, trellis, mailbox or telephone pole! They seem to need very little care and yield LOTS AND LOTS of blooms – don’t be fooled by the size of the flower – these vines are COVERED with color!! They grow best in sandy average soil and in full sun or partial shade.
