Questions & Comments

I would like to ask a direct question about the card, please. How many dollars will be on the card if I win with a bid of 5000 credits? For 10,000 you are saying you will send $20, you said? Thanks, Amy. : )

Stephanie (just above) is giving kind advice. Amy, I think it is great that you are creative in your listing. It does help to 'cover yourself' online, however, I think. No one filled out an application or had a background check to join Listia. LOTS of awesome people here, though!

To everyone in general...
A couple things I have noticed on Listia, which help me stay balanced:
#1 I notice that when people are truly giving away stuff they don't need, things are fun and easy. In that case, we really are GIVERS, not SELLERS : ).
#2 When we try to force an auction to make a "profit," (so to speak), it seems to make sellers tense (because they fear losing a cash "investment".) Same goes for auctions where people buy things to just to list and sell. Just for my own self (not judging anyone), I have decided not to put any cash on the line and keep Listia fun. I have scads of "stuff" (Garage Sale Queen, here). If I happen upon the deal of the century (once I got my kids 4 pairs of pjs for .50 at Target, for instance) I will be SURE to grab it and share with my Listia pals. : )
Just kinda hoping this helps things be mellow. Financial times are tough for us all. (OH- and that credits price is not at all a good indicator of the going buying value of credits. In my mind, 900 credits = about $3 in trade. Interested what others think.

Actually if u do the math the get it now should be worth 35.50 based on what your auction says about the adding $1 for every 500 credits...normally buyers add a bonus in get it now for incentive. So if someone uses get it now they should be getting atleast $35.50 according to your rules right?

im sure your right but what i was thinking is bids are not really gonna be all that high to reach 5500 with just normal bids and 1 dollar per 500 bids starting off at 5.00 on the gin is 11.00 and honestly im supporting this auction with my mad money so 35.00 is out of the question cause i only have 20.00 in mad money , the bonus for the gin is a 10.00 gift card i figured the card would go for about 3000 to 3500 so the gin is a bonus , realisticly

so owhat if bids DO get up to 5500...you would be required to put the 35.50 on it....you may want to change your rules so you don't end up owing somebody money you don't have. people on listia will bid high if there is no end cap and from what your auction says it doesn't. you'll need to contact listia to have them fix it before it ends or you may be owing alot of money...I've seen these get up to 10000 which by your rules would have you forking out over $60. just a heads up :-) .... I would love to bid but the get it now isnt worth it since it's more than five times the required amount to get it by bidding.

1dollar per 500 credits of total winning bid starting at $5.00 lets do the math 5500/500=$11.00 500 credits for cost of gin =5000 credits for me $10.00 for you in sweet yummy coffee Listia states if winning bids equal half of GIN, GIN will be disabled so there for the GIN will no longer b revelant if bids do go for 10,000 credits then so be it and i will send the winner a 20.00 gift card from Starbucks , well worth it on both ends

Just a hint so you don't get all this negativity next time, put a cap on the dollar amount, even if it is a tiered auction, and clearly state it. There usually is a bonus for GIN, if there is not you should state that. You did clearly state that GIN was a guaranteed $10 though, so people shouldn't be having such a big problem with the auction. The only thing I agree with pinkbuggy on is that you do state $1 for every 500 credits, so if it goes well above your GIN you would technically owe more money based on the way it is written. I am only warning you because a few of my friends have been given negative feedback for small mistakes in their listing and have had to go back to being like a "newbie" where you have to wait for the "got it" in order to receive your points. It is a great auction though, and I can see you are fairly new to listings so I would take the advice that your supporters are giving you and be very careful with tiered auctions such as this one. I understood it to be a max of $10 but as Ethan was saying, a lot of people will try to take advantage of you. Fanned you and wish you good luck:) Stephanie of the Listia Legends

Not sure what the issue is. She clearly states the card will start at 5.00 and for every 500 credits bid she would add $1 She also states if GIN is used the card will be guaranteed 10.00, The only issue I have seen was you trying to talk her into raising its value on it above what she originally intended. People like you pinkbuggy make me sick on here, You cannot accept the fact people are GIVING AWAY things on this site and always WANT MORE. If you don't like how their auction is or THEIR terms shut the heck up and go find another auction. Quit trying to persuade the person into giving more. ITS FREE! Great Auction. People can see you have good feedback and are a trusted seller people can see that.

I was pretty clear that she was describing it as $1 for every 500 credits in the winning bid, and that the $5 was just the minimum if it didn't get up to 500 in the first place. Not the best description, but IMO a poorly written description regardless of the item or method (tiered, whatever) warrants a pass, and if someone bids a bunch of credits on a vague listing, they can blame their own ignorance.

no need to get an attitude...I'm simply saying your rules don't make sense...and if you get a high bidder you could end up spending alot more than you planned(since you say you only have $20)....and if you got a huge bid and owed the winner a large amount and couldn't send it you'd get negitive feedback and I'm just trying to help you avoid that...CLEARY I have a good feedback score for a reason, thats because I have been here for a long time and know how to run auctions well. I was only trying to help you out...Don't worry I won't be bidding...most REAL listians won't bid when the rules don't add up the right way so good luck with that.

ur not taking into account that you said it already starts at $5 THEN adds $1 for every 500 credits bid. your terms just don't make such sense...I'm not trying to be mean, trust me I get so sick of people sometimes...I just don't want to bid and get jacked for a bunch of credits I worked hard for and get a unfair amount in return.

the other day i bid on a little glass container with a plastic cat glued on the side retail value about 2 dollars tops i thought it was just cute as all get out so i bid and i won that little jar ( im going to put my kittys treats in it and set it in my window) , my point is i won that jar for over 900 credits 900 cedits by listia prices would cost me about 20.00 so i guess u can say i paid 20.00 for a little glass jar with a plastic cat glued to the side but you know what i liked it and i bid on it cause i wanted it and its fun to win stuff ,,, finally my poinbt is if you dont like my terms then please dont bid on my auction there are others out there with crdits you aint the only one
