is this for actual human excersize or just a video game and do i need to purchase additional things to be able to use it?

This is a disc that has exercises on disc for you to perform. It's set up like a video game. You do not need to purchase anything additional to use it as long as you have an Xbox or Xbox 360 to run the disc in. Maya, the Xbox in-game avatar, coaches you through training sessions covering over 500 unique exercises featuring Yoga, Pilates, Cardio Fitness, Strength Training, Flexibility, and Weight Loss.

Also ... so you know ... the game does assume that you have some equipment at home for some of the routines ... like a step bench, or a hand weights, et. al. All exercises do not require equipment.
