Here is a great item for the Cat Lover.. It is a Plaster mold of a sitting cat that has been "decoupaged" (see definition below) with pretty Black paper that has a light Rose pattern. A true One of A Kind piece!! Quite beautiful, I did make one flaw on the nose, my finger stuck to the paper while varnishing, so it's rubbed off a bit..(right above my finger in last photo). This is a weighted item so it will be shipped in a well packed medium box. If you have any questions, don't hesitate to ask!!

Measures just under 10" high & the base is 8" wide!!

So this looks painted on but that's part of the design of decouple. Best described by Martha Stewart as: "Decoupage is artistic sleight of hand. What appears to be a painted design is actually paper, glued in place. What looks like lacquer is just a few coats of clear varnish, and what begins as an unremarkable piece of furniture becomes a bold, modern design statement." Tedious but stunning to see end results.

I have seen some really yucky decoupage crafts in my time but this is cute enough to turn me on to the whole decoupage theme. I wonder what this is made of. Maybe wrapping paper? I may need to get this just to figure out how to recreate more!

LOL I have no idea, the inside is open on the bottom and it looks like white paper kinda material. at first I thought it was plaster but I couldn't find anywhere that people decoupaged plaster :)
