Description

The listing, 2009 LP2 Formative Years Unopened Two Roll Mint Issued Set of Lincoln Cents has ended.

In 2009 The United States Mint issued a series of four one cent coins with different reverses to commemorate the 200th anniversary of Abraham Lincoln's birth and the 100th anniversary of the Lincoln cent. Each reverse design celebrated a different phase of President Lincoln's life. The LP1, or Log Cabin cent, depicts the log cabin where he was born. The LP2, Formative Years or Rail Splitter cent, shows Lincoln sitting on a log, book in hand, with an axe at his side. The LP3, or Professional Life, depicts him as a lawyer in the mid-west. And, of course, the LP4 or Presidency cent depicts him as the president in Washington. Each set contains a roll from the Philadelphia mint and a roll from the Denver mint, both wrapped in mint paper and enclosed in a box with which cent series is included, the bar coded product number and the date and time of packaging stamped on one end..

This listing is for the LP2 two roll set in the unopened box just as I received it directly from the mint in 2009 and put away for safekeeping. I also have the LP3 and LP4 sets available as well as bank roll sets of the LP1. I can also supply the eight coin sets in two coin 2x2 holders. This set will be shipped free to the highest bidder via US mail.

A good one to get and put away for posterity. Each coin in this series was produced for only three months.

All Listia rules apply. You must have a Listia verified address. I will not ship to an address that is sent to me through e-mail.

Thanks for stopping by and good luck with all your bids and listings.

I can't show you the coins that are in the box and still have the box sealed. The coins are in paper mint designed rolls in a plastic tray inside the box. I bought these directly from the mint so I am the only owner they have ever had. The mints shipped the Philadelphia and Denver rolls to a location where they were packaged and sealed with the date and time this was done stamped on the end. If you have seen the LP2 coins (Lincoln sitting on a log) you know what these look like. This is the variety for which there are so many different errors. The coins inside these rolls have not been seen by human eyes, let alone touched, since they left the mint.

I know you have a 100% rating, but I'm not bidding until I actually see some coins, a piece of paper with your Listia name on it. For all I know that's an empty box that's been sealed.

Please understand that Listia will not let me, or anyone else, update a listing within 24 hours of closing. I can not make pictures of coins that are sealed in a box by the mint. If I open the box to make pictures the value goes down any way. All your bids are protected by Listia any way. If I don't send exactly what I have pictured and described Listia will refund your credits. This is not a grab bag listing. I have told you exactly what is listed. If you don't understand what it is then simply don't bid. If you would like to learn more about the cents offered by the mint in 2009 just do a search for LP2 Lincoln cents. It will also come up with a search for LP1, LP3 or LP4.

If you do not understand what this is, please do not bid. I think I have completely described this roll set, but apparently I have not done it well enough. It looks like someone might get a real deal on this set because of comments made by people who do not understand what it is but I will not hide their comments. They are there for all to see and the winner of the auction can contact them and say "Thank you for helping me to get a great deal".

As stated, this is a two roll unopened set. There are 50 coins per roll. Do the math.
