From a smoke-free, cat-friendly home. These were from an estate sale, so smell a tiny bit musty (this to someone who has the most sensitive nose in the world!); most people wouldn't even notice a scent at all. I can affirm that these were not around smoke, though.
I have not attempted to "air" these out at all, and have simply kept them in the box I found them in.
