Two coins from Jamaica. A 2000 scalloped ten dollar coin and a 1996 five dollar coin.
The first honors the right excellent George William Gordan. In 1865 he was arrested during the Morant Bay Rebellion, which he had little to do with, because he was a politician that spoke out against the governor and for the rights of former slaves. He was illegally tried in a Court Martial and executed.
The second coin honors Norman Washington Manley who founded the People's National Party in 1938. He led the team that negotiated Jamaica's independence from Britain.
