The listing, 100 "Hens & Chicks" Succulent Seeds LAST PACK! (must see pics) has ended.

100ct pack of seeds with many different colors, as the above pictures show. Easy to grow and maintain. Limitless creative planting options. Hardy, fast growing, indoor or outdoor, pretty ground cover or plant them in a unique pot. A great addition to any garden or yard. They are also drought resistant and pet friendly. And I've never experienced any problems with bugs or insects. But our rabbit and the 2 yard birds (our chickens) like to eat them, so I have keep them separated.
Some of the pics are of ones I that I have grown myself, and a few are planting ideas that I'm presently working on. I love Succulents, I've been planting & collecting them for years. They are very interesting looking and super easy to grow. You can plant them virtually anywhere, regardless of the climate. However, they should be covered (if outside) during severe frost or snow.
The seeds are tiny, so please remember to use proper spacing in between each seed because as they mature they will need ample room for the chicks as they begin to multiply. If using for ground cover, I would spread them out a bit more than if planting them in a pot. They are AWESOME plants! Great accent for an easy to maintain landscape. I've had the most success by starting the seeds in cardboard egg crates and then transferring them to a chosen container or outside in the ground once the are approximately and inch in diameter. Easy for beginners but still fun to grow for even for the most novice gardener.
The last 2 pics are an example of a 2.5 month growth rate from seed. It would be twice the size if I had put it in a larger pot or outside in the direct sunlight and fertile/well drained soil. The various colors will become more vibrant when you stress the plant.

Hi :) Love these! Question: Does " 100ct pack of seeds with many different colors" mean they are all mixed together? I say yes, but husband says no ;)

The Semperviren Succulent (Hens & Chicks) seed pack contains different colors of the same type of plant. The various colors sometimes don't become apparent until they start to mature. The colors will become more vibrant if you stress them (but wait until they are at least an inch or more tall before you do this, the bigger the better). Once they've become established enough, you can withhold water and make sure they get full sun. Water once a week in full sun and twice a month if indoors. The combination of sun and little water makes the colors deeper and brighter.

I know! When his color changes in the winter, people sometimes ask me if he's an Artichoke. When he's all green, he sorta does look like one :)

Thank you! They aren't ALL mine. Some of them are, and then some of the other pics are to show some examples of unique planting ideas. I wish I could take credit for them all! That would be awesome. I'll try to add a picture later today of this huge one that I have. It's enormous. It's a little over a foot tall and almost 2 feet wide. Glad you like them :)

Succulents are in the Cactus family. I know you can eat certain kinds of Cactus, but that doesn't really apply to Succulents. They are not for human consumption. But if you have animals that sometimes eat your plants (like mine do) they will not cause any harm if ingested. I hope I answered your question properly? So, no. They are not a vegetable.

Wow! Huge! What kind of soil to start?

4 parts potting soil, I part coarse sand (be sure to rinse the sand well before mixing with potting soil) 1/2 part Perlite. Doesn't have to be that mix exactly, but making sure the soil in well drained is key. Clay like soil won't produce intended results. Mixing in some mulch and fertilizer are also beneficial. Well drained planting conditions is the most important thing to keep in mind.

I've been looking for a ground cover, this looks great.would they do well if planted under a Chinese Elm tree or around bushes?

Yes, they are very hardy plants so you can grow them almost anywhere. I would suggest starting them in little pots or egg crates first before transferring them in the ground. It just insures better growth rate. Once they are approx. an inch in diameter, then you can transfer them to use for ground cover. This process is also beneficial for the arrangement and proper spacing of the plants.

Thank you, I'm high bidder right now. I've been saving my egg cartons for my son's chicken eggs, but now I'll use them. He hasn't been bringing me eggs anyway. Haha

I live in OK, when is the best time to plant these?
Sep 17th, 2015 at 12:30:29 PM PDT by

if you start them indoors and wait for them to mature a bit, you should be able to plant them anytime of year in OK. Just be sure to cover them during a frost.
