You are looking at a 1883 Liberty Head Nickel ( V Nickel)!

Obverse - Lots of hair! Liberty is bold!

Reverse - Lines in corn are very visible!

You be the judge of the grade, as I do not grade coins. If I did I would have to assume that this is VF+

While the mintage is higher on the coins without cents I believe the government destroyed many due to the fact that without the "cents" people were gold plating them and passing them off as five dollar coins thus the reason for adding cents to the coin. So I imagine even though they did print more without cents I imagine many more were destoryed making them much rarer coins. Just my opinion.

My bad. That's the 1883 coin w/cents. Without cents this is about a 9 dollar coin in the 2005 redbook.

Yes it is an awesome coin. Most of this date you can't read the Liberty. This one is full and the stalks look awesome for it's age. I think it has great detail for a coin this old. I am thinking someone will do the gin before it's over. Tons of people would love to have this in there collection. Thank you. :)

The close up pics do show the most imperfections of the coin, but at least you know what you are getting at it's worst. Although you would have to have superman vision to see them. lol The coin looks awesome through the naked eye. THIS IS ONE AWESOME and RARE COIN. :) Thank you for noticing. :)

Thanks for showing this to me. It is a pretty nice looking coin. It has some really clear lettering but there are quite a few dings in it. I DO like it though. I will probably be bidding on this one even though I just got one recently. I am waiting for it to get here as a matter of fact. This is definitely going to bring a great fight at the end, and I am going to be in on it...LOL
