Description

The listing, U. S. Postal Stamp Collection with Cancellations from 1944-1955 has ended.

The shown at the top of this picture is a Columbia University 1754-1954 aqua 3 cent stamp. The phrase at the bottom reads, " MAN'S RIGHT TO KNOWLEDGE AND THE FREE USE THEREOF." It was mailed on Feb.20, 1954 from Emhouse, TX. I'm not sure the city name was all printed. The next one down to the left is a President Jefferson 3 cent stamp mailed on Sept. 13, 1950, from Blooming Grove, TX. The one next to it is a Liberty 3 cent stamp showing the Statue of Liberty. It was mailed on Dec. 20, 1954, from Sweetwater, TX. Below that row, on the left, is a John Adams 2 cent stamp mailed on Dec. 17, 1949, from Frost, TX. Next to that are three 1 cent George Washington stamps mailed on Aug. 31, 1953, from Big Spring, TX. Under them, you see a 2 cent stamp with a picture of a man (not labeled) mailed on Dec. 13, 1954, from Hillsboro, TX. The bottom stamp is a 1 1/2 cent Martha Washington stamp mailed on Dec. 19, 1944, from Barry, TX.
