The following SD memory cards have been approved for use in the D3000 digital SLR. All cards of the designated make and capacity can be used, regardless of speed. SanDisk: 512MB
It all depends on how big your pictures are, and what megapixel they are taken at, and if they are jpg (compressed) or not. Here is the basic from Sandisk: Taking pictures at 4MP in jpg format, will allow 366 pictures to be stored.
