This is a Premier brand necklace and is about 15 1/2 inches long. That is from one end to the other when unclasped and straight. Very pretty and will catch the light and sparkle beautifully! Can be worn dressy or can dress up blue jeans!!!

No, neither. Sorry. It is purely costume jewelry. Not sure if you have ever heard of the brand name Premier or not but I used to sell it at parties sort of like tupper ware or home interior. I have owned this piece for almost 13 years and it still looks new! Very pretty
