I had this ring in the 70's and bought it from Avon!!!! (Yes I am older than dirt, but look a little less dusty) ...lol! This is a classic time enduring ring made in a time when quality workmanship meant everything, and people took pride in their products! Not like today... you have something that looks beautiful for a few years but then it's time for a new one. I STILL have my ring in my bank vault!!!!! Haha you're too funny and that is so cool! I completely agree also. Stamped 925 silver used to mean just that, 92.5% silver. Nowadays silver plated and silver "filled" jewelry is marked 925 as well and if it's not disclosed that it's not solid Sterling you find out the hard way. A few years ago I bought a "925 Sterling Silver" ring from an overseas China seller on EBay (bad decision already lol) and came to find out after a few weeks of wearing it that it was silver plated and not solid Sterling as was stated. I found the EBay article warning of these oversea sellers selling plated stuff as solid a little too late haha but I should've known right away by how dinky and light the ring. The old adage "You get what you pay for" couldn't be more true. When I bought a Sterling ring from an online jewelry place (I don't if I can say the name) within two weeks the band was so cloudy and three of the stones fell out! I was angry to say the least because of how much I paid for it and it turned out to be a piece of junk. I'll stick to buying my vintage Sterling jewelry because for 1. I know it is what it says it and 2. It lasted that long for a reason and that's because it's made well. Thank you so much for stopping by and for the kind comments! Fanned:)
