The listing, OPA Blue Point WWII Token has ended.
During World War II rationing of food and other essential items was a fact of everyday
life regulated by a government agency, OPA, OFFICE of PRICE ADMINISTRATION
which issued these so-called RED POINT or BLUE POINT TOKENS to shopkeepers to
make change for customers' ration coupons. They were made of a vulcanized fiber and were 16-mm in diameter. As in almost all vintage items this piece has signs of wear, with some possible scratches and scuffs. All of these things added together is what makes these vintage pieces so attractive.
