Green Pak Choy - 20 Seeds - These leafy greens are a popular Chinese vegetable that are similar to bok choi and spring greens. Pak choi has pretty paddle-shaped dark green crisp and crunchy leaves with a thick creamy stalk and a mild flavor....used steamed or in stir fry.

how do you grow them in winter? have you grown them?
If you reside in a warmer climate as to where you don't get snow and the temperature mainly stays above 50 you can plant bok or pak choi all year round. Cooler climates usually plant pok choi in the spring after a frost. If you do reside in an area that gets a frost during Jan - Feb (southern belt USA), be sure to cover them with a blanket of material, tarp or what ever you have on hand to protect them from being damaged from frost.
Seeds are planted between 1/4 and 1/2 inch deep. Then you would space the seeds about 1 inch apart and space the rows at least 18 inches apart because the'll spread a bit.
You'll then need to thin the plants out a bit. Remove the smallest plants to achieve a spacing of at least 6 inches, depending on the variety of pok choi. You can replant the pulled seedlings or use them in a salad.
Head on over to Farmer's Almanac or do an online search by tying in 'Growing Pak Choi' or Pak Choi seeds that sort of thing. There's no wrong way to plant cabbage. You can also use them in container gardens. Be sure to pull any bugs and keep the soil moist.
Pak choi is perfect to grow because, it has a shorter growing period as of about 35 days compared to a large variety of cabbage that would take about 65 days. Pak choi is lovely to grill, boil, bake, fry etc. Cheers ~LosAngeles
