These are a nice plant and like she said , they are tough, they will multiply, I have seen them look like they were dead, but they were not, I had them at another home and I want these, thanks and btw do not dig them up , like she said they will be fine, they do multiply a lot.

My gladiolas have become hardy as well as most of my cosmos, maybe I could try that with elephant ears, just a bulb or two the 1st wintering , just to see.

but you dont dig them up every late fall ?? the ones you want to stay, that is.. Im assuming by reading the above comments that Elephant Ears grow back year after year just as Hostas do?? You only dig up the bulbs if you want to relocate them?

We didn't hav it where water would stand...We was thinking maybe our rose bushes killed them or something, Because my daughter got me a rose plant last year and it grew real big this year and we planted it close to my elephant ear plant...It got sobig last year and we thought it would come back this year but no luck.

Well you know I am thinking the rose bush probably either soaked up all the water or the roots smother the elephant ears out.....:( Darn...I hate that.... but I have always had good luck but I had them to the side of my house and it was easy for me to water them daily though....you know

if you till the ground and make sure they have plenty of water almost 7 foot and the leaves were huge and I mean huge but when I put my car shed beside them they still got tall but not as tall and a little less wide in the leaves...:)

I just started two of these this year. I take it they must be dug up in the fall. Mine are just starting to grow. One is 3 feet talk, the other 2 feet. What do I do? I live in New England with up to -20's but mostly 0's in winter. thanks for your help.
