Description

The listing, Dwarf Peach Tree Seed has ended.

This is a tester auction to see if people are interested.

I am offering one pit from one of my dwarf trees. This is a Dwarf Peach Tree. These grow about 4 to 6 feet tall. They are self pollinating so you will get fruit. They grow outdoors in zones 5 to 8. However due to their size, they make good container plants and can be brought indoors for the winters.

This was just picked off my tree when I ate a peach. So it is a fresh seed.

My former neighbors planted a peach tree of some kind - not a dwarf because it has doubled in size in 2 years. It does produce lots of small (not like Georgia peaches) but extremely sweet peaches. I have not been able to find one like it. Guess I will have to save a pit this year.....lol

Peaches will grow in containers. As it gets larger make sure the container is deep.It will produce in a container but not as much. I think I know which peaches you are talking about. My friend has some like that.

Although I live in a heavy peach producing area, I have never tried any fruit trees in my yard. My question: how do you plant the seed. As it comes from the peach, or crack the outer shell?

I crack the shell so it doesn't have to rot off. That can take forever. Then plant in February while it is still cold so it stratifies. When you dig don't put the dirt back in it. Use some healthier mixture to feed it.

Peaches don't generally grow in that area. However anyone can simulate various conditions. I keep my berries cooler in my area by having them shaded so they will produce. Otherwise it is too hot for them. You might be able to do something like that?

Yours actually looks like a small mango tree. How old is the tree in the picture and how long till it will produce fruit if I container it?
Is the fruit good?

The fruit is delicious and tastes like a regular full sized peach. The tree in the pic is about 4 maybe 5 years old.
