Seeds I saved in August, 2015 from a smaller squash that matured early.

I like eating them when they are big but light green and they are delicious. A friend tells me they are not ripe until they turn yellow, but they have a mild taste earlier than that and I like them this way better as they are quite mild.
These plants flourished in the rainy spring/summer we had in Colorado in 2014. This year, dryer weather, I got fewer squash. They love water!
There are many great recipes you can try. Use in lieu of pasta or serve like a vegetable.
