The listing, 5 & 2/3 YARDS OF WAVERLY DECOR FABRIC has ended.
5&2/3 yards of Waverly décor fabric. It is 54" wide. The pattern is Norfolk Rose. 100% cotton. Would be great for making curtains, pillows, etc...
Questions & Comments
I would use a softer fabric for a kimono as like a satin, silk or even a polyester. Cotton may be to stiff for a yukata. Plus it doesn't have a sheen/shine. If you use cotton, it would look more like pajama than kimono. Cheers.
Do you think this would be suitable for kimono/yukata fabric? i.e. does it hang stiffly with shape to it? Is there any texture? and lastly, does it sew well with silk or thin thread by hand? Sorry for the interrogation!!!! Already yr fan and bidding too on the other bolt!
I don't know a lot about kimonos or yukatas, but I don't know if this would be the right fabric for that. It does hang a little stiffly and has a little texture to it. You should be able to sew it with thin thread though. Hope that helps.
Waverly is usually considered household/upholstery fabric, not clothing fabric in the sewing world. Used for covering pillows, shams, drapes, slip covers on chairs due to its weight and weave. Not really a wash and wear type fabric, dry clean is best. Hope this helps. The best fabric out there in my opinion. So beautiful and quality to the utmost, I have always seen when used or in yardage. I would love to have it but not sure why I need it, just love the fabric! LOL!
