yes you can use this phone with a minutes plan or a contract, since it is at&t all you have to do is insert an at&t SIM chip and it will work immediately :)

This phone had ZERO DAMAGE!!! No scratches, no cosmetic damage and has never been dropped!!! GREAT WORKING CONDITION!!!!

And if I don't have at&t as my carrier...will it still work? I only need a new sim card...what about it needing to be unlocked? My mother needs a new phone and this would be perfect! =)

that i am not 100% sure about but if it can be unlocked im pretty sure it could be used ouside of at&t network.
