Color: Deep green-burgundy leaves.
Foliage: Showy, tropical sized foliage. Up to 3 feet across.

Form: Annual (zones 3 - 7), Perennial (zones 8 - 10).
Shade Requirement: Full sun.
Germination: 7 - 10 days at 70 - 75 degrees F.
Flower Form: Panicles are 1 - 2 feet.
Soil Requirements: Rich, well-drained soil.
Growth Rate: Medium to fast growth rate.
Size: 1/2 - 1 inch.
Comments: Leaves have many colors: green, red, bluish-gray, maroon, purple, and variegated. Leaves are veined with scarlet and measure 3 feet across. Seeds and leaves are poisonous. Likes heat and moisture. In zones 8 - 10 it acts as a perennial. Soak seeds for 24 hours before sowing. Requires staking in exposed areas. Helps keep moles away.
