Military version of the DC-3 was C-47 Skytrain for the US Army Air Force and R4D for the US Navy and Marines. With the black and white invasion stripes on it. It would have been used during the D-Day Invasion and would have been the C-$7

Thanks for your service Ron. My father was a gunnery instructor in the Canadian RAF and may well have been around prototypes to this cool little toy. The plane measures 2 5/8" long with a wingspan of 3 3/4". It's a tiny toy metal plane folks, it is indeed small.
