No I ship in paper towel and baggie it lives

yeah - as long as the plant roots are gently wrapped in damp paper towels and put in plastic bag, they will be fine. In fact, it is helpful sometimes to ship that way because you are keeping moisture near the roots and you are sealing off the outside air so the plant doesn't dry out since it doesn't have a way to keep the moisture in its leaves otherwise. I have a spider plant - they are really cool looking!
