Mesquite can be grown as a bush or a tree. You can prune it into a lovely tree or allow it to twist into an unusual shape. The trees are drought resistant & beautiful. They have feathery leaves with unusual flowers. The trunks, branches, leaves and flowers are all very unique.

My Grandmother used to make us collect the seed pods so she could cook the seeds. We ate them as snacks. They are so wonderful to eat. Other things can be done with them too. They can be ground and used as flour if you are gluten intolerant.
