yes, it is a long skirt, vintage when "maxi" or "granny" skirts were in style; following the mini, they reverseed the fad, and then called "maxi"

I understand that. I wore them in the early 70s. Can you post a picture of the skirt; not just the fabric. The skirt is patchwork but in the pic it looks as though it isn't actually quilted. because it is so thin. does it have cotton batting and backing. Is it A line or gathered?

It's not actually quilted. It's a pattern that looks quilted. Will try to get another photo, but kind of swamped, sorry.
