I got this whistle & a few more at a Veteran's Estate sale, which is where I get most of my items.
To My knowledge this is a U.S. Navy whistle from 1944 as stated on the whistle. Yes the whistle is Plastic, with a cork ball.
According to the ones online for sale, (Please research), this is exactly like them.
