external readers for sim cards don't exist and doubt they ever will if the cell carriers have their way... these are more for folks like me who have a card that won't read or in my case, the build in reader on the desktop died.

actually they do, so thats why i was asking. there are quite a few in Staples including a 72-1 reader by Vivitar for around $20. Just thought maybe I could win something similar on here :) Thanks!!!

There are quite a few different brands out there that read up to x amount and for more or less $20 but its a matter of getting something for free here. That's why this site is so great. It's supply and demand. I could've sold this on Ebay but supply is great on Ebay and demand is low because there's just too many tech junkies out there selling this stuff on that site. Here, the gratitude is much more satisfying.

It wouldn't make sense to have a reader for a SIM card(as in the card that makes your phone work with at&t or prepaid phones) as all they store are information about your phone so they can track you and keep tabs on your phone usage. I think you've confused the SIM card with the mini SD card(or micro SD card as their sometimes refered to) which is found in all the major paying phones(like the new droid that just hit verizon) that allow you to store mp3s,pictures, movies,etc.. and come in a variety of sizes up to 64gb.

I hear shipping to India is very unsafe. The only way I will ship to India is registered mail. Which u will pay for. $11.50 plus postage. I believe it would be around $15. Thanks for asking.
