The listing, Smokey the Bear x 3, Tom Sawyer x 3 has ended.
I am changing the start (and end) time of my auctions to 6:00 to 7:00 PM every Saturday, Seattle time.
This auction is a bit different from my other THEMED auctions..... stamp notice all three are duplicate (stamps) however in each of the three selvage has something different in them!
Same with Tom Sawyer, same three stamps but look at the selvage area:
(1) Cartoon mailman smiling carrying mail:
"Use Zip Code"
(2) MAIL EARLY IN THE DAY in the selvage of Tom Sawyer
(3) Plate number on side selvage!
All stamps have interesting images... Tom Sawyer (Mark Twain)
Three, Smokey the Bear
Issied in Capitan New Mexico!
Printed By: American Bank Note Company
This stamp honors the mascot and familiar symbol of the U.S. Forest Service. Smokey Bear's face was widely used in the Forest Service's efforts to prevent forest fires.
A fire ravaged 17,000 acres of forest in the Capitan Mountains of south-central New Mexico. A small bear club managed to survive the blaze by climbing a tree. Firefighters rescued the cub from the tree and tended to his badly burned feet. Soon after, they nicknamed him Smokey Bear, in reference to the symbol for fire prevention.
Winner receives everything shown in 1st photo.
Others photos are close up, back side, different angles
