The listing, Gold Plated 1883 No Cent "V" Nickel has ended.
Here is something you don't see everyday a gold plated 1883 No Cent "V" nickel. Appears to be in uncirculated condition. I found this in a bag of Buffalo Nickels. Not sure it is worth anything but it is unusual anyway.
This is a real plated US Coin back in the days conartist plated them and used the as 5 dollar peice, Pretty cool piece of history. Plus the fact that the no cent coin was only mented 5,479,519 versus the one with cent on it was minted over 16,000,000. I hope this has helped. Great Otem great auction. Fanned
this coin was gold plated and was passed as a 2 /12 dollar gold coin. If it was tossed on a bar and the V side came up it could be accepted as a 2 1/2 dollar gold coin instead of a 5 cent Victory Nickel. I do not know if this is an original coin or not but have had a few of them over time. Only done to the 1883 coin. Bob.
