I'm getting rid of my Cabbage Patch Dolls. My loss is your gain! This lil guy is one of the original CPDs. He has the number 77 on the back of his head and some of the manufacturer information.

He's from 1982, and I'll have to look at the signature when i get home.

So he is actually from 1983 or early 1984 as they did come out until 1983 and those are the ones with black signatures usually.

what year they are from is based on the color of the signature on their but. 1983/early 1984=black, late 1984=green, 1985=blue , that is unless it is african american and then it is black, 1986=red, 1987=bluish-green, 1987=purple, 1989=pink these are for the 80's coleco ones only

the 1978 year is the year Xaiver Roberts got the patent for little people/cabbage patch kids, the 1982 is the year Coleco got the rights to make them, no cabbage patch kids were made in 1982 (with hard faces, just the big soft expansive ones), first ones came out in 1983

Also you should see the last two digits of the year in the signature except for 83 I think, but I am not sure how true that is for 1983, but for 84-89 this is true
