The listing, Vintage Silver Large Antique Locket Or Pill Keeper Milor 925 Italy Chain has ended.

Large locket measures about 1 1/2" across
Initials on back--I can't make out what they are!
Can you?
The chain says 925 Italy and Milor
Chain is 24" long and in beautiful condition..heavy for it's size.
Locket has small scratches and a dent..but nothing that detracts from the beauty of this piece
Needs cleaning but I leave that to the next owner
This came from an estate sale--I have a few more pieces that I am listing. I hope you will take a peek!

This is a Vinaigrette, it most likely had a insert that had small holes in it, ladies used it to hold under their noses because of the foul odors in the street, the style of this would date it as from the Victorian era, the ladies would place a small sponge soaked in lavender or rose oil under the small grate or put smelling salts inside :)

Oh Evelyn..thank-you! I looked up what you shared with us on that other website. That is exactly what it is! I had no idea. I really appreciate you sharing your knowledge. I know you do tons of research like I do. It's really something that you took time out to help me. I think it must have had a little insert..it's so wide and would certainly accommodate something like that. So, I guess only the well-to-do ladies would have these. That's great. It's older than I thought.

Oh and the rose on the front is a form of enameling called guilloche, Karl Faberge used this form of decoration on his famous eggs :)
