~Michael Layne Turner(April 21, 1971 – June 27, 2008) ~
Turner died June 27, 2008 at the Santa Monica Hospital in California, of complications from bone cancer. He is survived by his mother Grace Crick, his brother Jake Turner, and his fiancee Kelly Carmichael. (Fathom vol. 3, #1, which was published on Wednesday, August 6, 2008, featured a tribute to Turner in the form of a stylized blue ribbon in the upper right hand corner of its cover, and its first page was a memorial to him, including a photograph of him at his drawing board.)

nice comic, RIP michael turner... an amazing artist who's life was cut far to short. He even started his own comic company and was on his way to becoming similar to Todd Mcfarlane. Turner had a drawing style that was just amazing to look at with his fantasy worldlike ideas. He is well missed by myself and other guys in the industry as well.

I think you're a bit confused. This is not the Michael Turner Fathom. This is an unrelated Elementals character that shared the same name. This series is from 1987. Michael was still in high school with this series came out. His Fathom series came out in 1998 and was unrelated to this one.
