What is it?
Unpacking my boxes from a recent move I came upon this item. I purchased it in Illinois back in the late 80's and put it in a box and forgot about it.

Moving is like Christmas :) You open a box and say to yourself "wow I do not remember this" or "I forgot that I had this" or "it's just what I was looking for"

This hand crochet ecru doily or runner or ??? is 24 inches by 20 inches. It could be used as a decorative doily or a toss pillow decoration or ????

All I know it needs a good home because I have no place for it. It is in beautiful vintage condition and I did launder and press it.

yes it is it might have been for a table covering . I have one in this same stitch my Grandmother made to fit her Dinning room table in very small fine thread . It is beautiful

I like to crochet; and, knitting looks different from this. So, I'm pretty sure this is made from TATTING. Now a-days, tatting is a lost art. Yours is an antique scarf for the dresser, chest of drawers or antique table, with a gorgeous antique vase on it. Good luck with your auction. =D

Crocheting, knitting and tatting as well as others is getting lost in our hi tech world. I love items like this placed all over my home (drives my husband batty :) ) but this one does not go with my decor. One lucky Listian will be very happy with this doily.
