I upgraded from this phone to another model. There is no prepaid feature and no contract with the phone. Hope that helps.

It connects from the ac outlet to the phone by a standard mp3 connecting port. Neither square or round.

The connecting port is wider on the bottom than on the top. As I mentioned, my mp3 to usb cord has exactly the same connection port.
