According to the package, u can even apply them to most surfaces including monitors, books, mugs, phones, frames, desks, furnished wood, plastic, metal, etc.

But I know the only time I was allowed even to try on a tattoo was around Halloween. But in this day and age, many people can use these all year round, even with parents approval. Maybe your parents have the real thing and u want to try to c how it may look on u before u get the real thing.
