Description

The listing, BEAUTIFUL VINTAGE HAIR PIN WITH PEARLS AND BEAUTIFUL STONES ALL INTACT has ended.

This is a beautifully stunning vintage hairpin with pearls and other stones all intact. It is in beautiful condition for its age, however there are no stamps to indicate what year it may be from. I think that it is stunning and would be beautiful to any collector or vintage accessories lover! I am unsure of metal type but it is not rusted or tarnished in any way.

I just added a couple new pictures of it with a a ruler to show the length and roundness. It's probably about 1" in diameter. Thanks so much for viewing! Good luck!

Its post 1955 because of the AB finish on some stones. AB wasn't invented yet before then, its a really sweet item!

Thank you so much for the information! I love learning things like this. If you don't mind explaining, what exactly is an AB finish? Is it what gives off the iridescent color? Thanks again and good luck!

Yes, AB is short for Aurora Borealis (like the northern lights) and the shimmering rainbow of colors.

Testing pearls is so easy, if you know how to do the tooth test! I am just telling you, as I know if you can verify if they are 100% genuine, you will get way higher bids! Which I want to see for everyone!

But take one of the pearls and rub it against your front tooth, and if it feels gritty and grainy, then it is real!

However, if it just rolls smoothly along your tooth, then it is a simulated pearl!

I appreciate that information so very much... I did exactly what you said and ran one of the pearls along my front tooth and to be honest it felt a little soft (not smooth) but not overly rough. It wasn't gritty and grainy as you said but it also wasn't so smooth that it felt like plastic. I would hate to mislead anyone because I like simply providing facts. I love learning new things! My main question that resonates is; would they put real pearls on a piece that isn't real silver? I would love for them to be real, however, I just don't know. Thanks so much again!
