actually, i am compelled to share re: the proper functioning of the needle-- i found out a couple things for novice ball inflaters. 1)You are supposed to moisten the needle before you insert it into the blow-up-ee; 2) you are supposed to insert it in all the way (i don't quite get this because the air comes through the tip... but i defer to those who know better!)

oh, AND... you pump the hand pump quite quickly so the air doesn't escape i guess.
