Issued by the USPS on March 23, 1990, these stamps pay tribute to four classic films from Hollywood's golden era. The issue date coincided with the 50th anniversary of their nomination for the Academy Award. The four depicted films are The Wizard of Oz (stamp features Judy Garland and Toto), Gone with the Wind (features Clark Gable and Vivien Leigh), Beau Geste (features Gary Cooper), and Stagecoach (features John Wayne).
