The listing, *RARE*1808 Draped Bust Large Cent has ended.

I dug this coin a while back and as one can see the New England soil has not been too kind to it. With that said, the date is visible and it appears to read 1808. As an 1808 it should have the classic head rather than the draped bust. Please judge for yourselves as I'm no expert, but I think this may be a very unique piece. If no bids are received I have no remorse about retaining it in my collection. Thanks for looking and I appreciate any comments.

Your copper large cent , draped bust design , was only issued between 1796 and 1807 . The coin shown is all possibility dated 1803 . A little hard to tell in the photograph but the reverse is correct for draped bust and not the redesigned new classic head series cent issued between 1808 and 1814 .

I've considered that possibility and after comparing it to an 1803 I have (in slightly sharper detail) and ones I've see on the internet, I've found that the 3 has a flattened top rather than the rounded top on this particular coin. I can't say for certain but have considered the possibility that an 1808 old design may have been struck in limited numbers before the new style was implemented. Just a speculation though. Thanks for your input, greatly appreciate any and all feedback.

I've considered that option, but why two different style zeros?

Sorry for any blurryness, I was trying to get the sunlight and my phone's camera to focus. I tried for best results, I thought these weren't bad.
