With its built-in docking station and clean, contemporary design, the iHome iH5 clock radio is the perfect complement for your Apple iPod digital music player. Not only does the iH5 let you listen to your iPod music free from cumbersome headphones, it also lets you fall asleep or wake to music you've loaded into your iPod. You can also wake or sleep to FM/AM radio or wake to a traditional buzzer.
The compact unit measures roughly 9 x 3 x 6 inches (W x H x D) yet comes complete with stereo speakers, drift-free digital FM/AM radio tuning, a multifunction LCD with adjustable backlighting, and the ability to charge your docking iPod's battery right from its center seat.

Immediately upon plugging it in and the clock will set itself, drawing on its factory-installed 100-year calendar (year/month/day, 2000 to 2099). The clock will maintain accuracy all on its own, even self-adjusting for Daylight Savings time and leap years.

Fall asleep to your favorite station or a carefully chosen iPod playlist using the unit's programmable sleep timer (15 to 120 minutes in 15-minute increments). Gradual Wake and Gradual Sleep features will increase (with on wake-up) or decrease (on sleep) the system volume so as not to startle you. Adjustable sleep volume lets you select a comfortable "sleep" volume level without affecting the wake-to or listening volume levels.

Yeah, I know I wish it did keep a charge on the iPhone. But any iPods and iPhones made after this was manufactured won't charge, is what I'm surmising. As for a GIN, no I didn't put one in this auction. I was going to but didn't know what was a reasonable GIN, so I just left it as a bidding auction. Wish I could put one now but I don't have that option anymore. Good luck if you're able to bid...

It won't charge it, but your music from your ipod touch will play through the speakers. So it will be good for listen to music or watching youtube stuff and waking up to your music from your ipod if you decided to do that or you can use the regular alarm sound from the ihome itself.

Hello. I started loooking around for speakers for my Iphone. I was reading through comments & I believe you mentioned it works with the iphone. I have a iphone 3GS. But also curious if it will work with iphone when I upgrade it? Also unclear if the clock is plagged in, does it also keep iphone charging? You know how fast they drain battery!!

Hi and thank you for checking out my auction. I currently have the iPhone 3GS and the Ihome works with my cell phone. I'm able to listen to music from my Pandora online radio app through the speaker and if someone calls while your listening to music the ringing comes out through the speakers. As for charging the iPhone 3GS, no it does not charge my iPhone. I doubt it will charge anything except for the 1st Generation IPod Nano. Also, I did have it plugged in when I took the pictures. it also has a battery compartment underneath for the time backup if electricity goes out. Batteries are included. If you mean that if it only plays music from your iPod or iPhone, I would say yes for the later generations of iPods, I don't think it was meant for charging iPhones, but my iPhone does play through the speakers when I play my music through it. As far as I know I read from an online manual for this model that it will only charge 1st gen iPods only.. I hope I answered your question. If not please elaborate on it. Thanks...

I don't know if it will charge it, but I'm pretty sure you can use it to listen to music and as an alarm clock. I would assume your iPod touch is pretty much the same as an iPhone, just without a phone. So I'm sure you can dock your iPod touch and use it for an alarm and listen to music from your iPod touch through it's speakers. It just won't charge it. the newer Ihomes will charge your iPod touch. Hope that helps.

I honestly don't know..All I know is , is that ipod touches, ipod nanos, and my iphone that i have are able to be used with this ihome as a docking station, meaning it will only play music through the speakers and be used as an alarm clock with options of waking up to your music in your ipod or the radio. I also use the Ambiance app from Apple and that works great to fall asleep to. I'm going to put a ling up to the user manual so everyone can see what is compatible..

Can you elaborate a little more on what your question means? I use the word Reserved as a comment to myself so that if I needed to write extra info about my item, it is highlighted in blue when I hit the reply button, because people tend to read everything that the seller has written, especially if it is highlighted blue.

I also wanted to add that this Ihome is in excellent condition with no scratches that I could find. The only thing that I could find wrong is that the volume button needs a little pressure as you turn the dial to have the volume go up or down, and since I had the iHome sitting around it started getting the slightly off white look on the top that white electronics get as they sit there without use. Also the sound is pretty good coming out of the speakers.
As a side note I put my daughters Purple Ipod Nano to make sure it played music (Not for sale by the way, display purpose only ) and that worked great, but it doesnt charge it. My Iphone 3gs doesn't get charged either, but My Ipod and Pandora App works great. It probably charges the 1st gen Ipods.

If I happen to find the box with the manual I will send it. This Ihome model never came with a remote in the box.

Just to be on the safe side of things I'm going to say that it is a docking station, not a charging station. It will only play music from your iPods or iPhones.. If I find out anything different I will post it in an update..
