Ok I have a question that is gonna probably make me sound like an idiot, but I always hear people talk about these, but Im trying to figure out is it the star next to the numbers that makes this rare? I don't know anything about these that's why I ask? Thanks

When the Federal Reserve prints a sheet of money - On rare occasions they make a mistake - offset print - forget to add a certain color inc, etc. In these cases they reprint the sheets but cannot duplicate the serial # so the replace the last letter of the serial # with a star.

Because this very rarely happens and is usually caught early in the process - that makes very few notes in circulation star notes.

The only thing more rare are the notes they don't catch that they made a mistake on. I have a couple offset printed bills.
