Description

The listing, Antique Elgin Pocket Watch has ended.

The watch was given to a family member in the envelope that has a brief history of the watch and owner. The last person to own it (not my relative) was employed by the railroad – a railroad man working the trains, I think conductor. His initials are engraved on the back, photo 2. At least 75 – 80 years old, it does not work, maybe retired when it's owner did! This watch also had a back that opened, usually containing a photo. The back does not open, appears to be stuck. Who knows what could be in there? I sure don't. Scratching the case (as someone has already done) was my concern. So, here it is with all it's problems, possibly a gift for someone who works on watches.

No, the crystal is definitely not cracked. Looking at it with a loupe, the lines look like pencil lines on the dial. I had never noticed them until the photo.

Probably gold filled and these are highly collectible! Look on ebay at the completed listings. Some go really high! Would be worth fixing. Good luck to all bidders!
